The JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live was the scene
of the October 7, 2012 Safe Passage Gala Fundraiser
to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
We were honored this year by the presence and involvement of our Host Sponsor, Celebrity Dentist,
Dr. Bill Dorfman (“Extreme Makeover” and “The Doctors”). Dr. Dorfman was joined by Dr. Grant Loosvelt
and Dr. Jonathan Rudner, who have volunteered their services to restore not only the smiles of women survivors of domestic violence, but most importantly their dreams, their lives and their souls.
The dinner event included a video presentation of the stories and testimonies of some of the women shown on the big screen, punctuated by several personal appearances. Their heartfelt stories of change, hope and triumph put smiles on our faces, which were full of tears–not of sorrow, but of joy, pride and gratitude.
